Summer Fete 2011
This years Fete was held in the Car Park of Croydon Masonic Hall. What a day! It
started raining early in the morning when the Provincial Stewards and other volunteers
started to assemble the Gazebos and as the morning wore on the rain became heavier.
By the afternoon when the Fete was due to be opened by the R.W. Provincial Grand
Master, W.Bro Eric Stuart Bamford, it became obvious that the weather was not about
to change. The wonderful part about the Fete was the atmosphere – it was one of fun
and happiness.
The afternoon was just as successful as last year at Surbiton in the sun and a big thank
you to all who helped and came and supported us as well as Croydon Masonic Hall for
allowing us to use their premises. Hopefully, next year, we may be able to hold the Fete
in the Home where we belong. Something in the order of £6,700 net was raised.
